WHO WE ARE
We are an environmental and social justice organization dedicated to promoting beekeeping as a craft, connecting communities, restoring native bees, and delivering impact.
We empower communities through beekeeping, strengthening the native British black bee population while delivering measurable social and environmental impact.
We combine professional beekeeping services with community led training to create resilient local ecosystems and meaningful corporate partnerships.
OUR STORY
Bees and Refugees began as a therapeutic beekeeping.
Today we run corporate & community workshops, train new beekeepers, and partner with businesses to deliver biodiversity, wellbeing and community engagement outcomes.
By connecting people and place we build skills, improve wellbeing, and support native black bees.
OUR VALUES
Our projects support local biodiversity through responsible, site-specific beekeeping. Each site is assessed to ensure appropriate hive numbers, sufficient forage, and the protection of wild pollinators.
We place beehives in the right place, right number and give them the right care.
NATIVE BLACK BEES
We support UK’s native Black Bee population, our bees are monitored throughout the season, with regular health checks and seasonal management to ensure strong, resilient colonies.
THE FARM
The Farm, our home in Sevenoaks just a short train ride from central London, hosts businesses and organizations for team days, workshops, beekeeping courses, and tailored experiences that focus on biodiversity, sustainability, and meaningful connection with nature.
